April 1, 2008 "Collaborative Courts of Orange County" Presenters: Hon. Wendy Lindley Deputy District Attorney Debbie Carrillo
Overview of the Collaborative Courts including Drug Court, DUI Court, Domestic Violence Court, Dependency Court, the 3 Criminal Mental Health Courts, and Community Courts. Covered were why we have these courts, how they operate, the success rates, and the impact of addiction.
March 4, 2008 "Ethics Tricks of the Trade" Presenter: Mr. Wayne Gross, former federal prosecutor and former chair of OCBA's Professionalism and Ethics Committee.
The presentation focused on techniques utilized by federal prosecutors to make themselves appear credible to judges and juries, and explained how all trial lawyers could use such techniques to maximize their chances of winning at trial.
February 4, 2008 February Fling. OCWLA's annual spring fundraiser to benefit its three charities: Public Law Center, El Viento, and our Bar Stipend award.
January 7, 2008 Attorney of the Year, Donna Bashaw. More than 50 OCWLA members and guests gathered to honor Donna Bashaw as Attorney of the Year for her many contributions to her profession. Mrs. Bashaw was "roasted" by friends and colleagues Pearl Mann and Fay Blix. Emails of congratulations were read from Judge Franz Miller and Kim Hubbard.

September 4, 2007 "The Collaborative Option: Making Intelligent Referrals" Presenters: Elizabeth Jones, Esq. and Judy Williams, Esq.
Case law requires attorneys to understand all of a client's options when making referrals. This program explored the three main options for divorcing parties: litigation, mediation, and collaborative law.
August 10, 2007 OCWLA Annual Summer Sizzle Fundraiser Venue: The Center Club, Costa Mesa
Funds were raised for three worthy causes: OCWLA's Bar Stipend, Public Law Center, and El Viento (an organization that provides children and young adults with opportunities for success in life through partnerships with schools, colleges, development organizations, and other community constituencies).
