On December 7, 2015, the Orange County Women Lawyers Association held its annual holiday celebration and installed its 2016 Board of Directors. The incoming President, Allyson Thompson, and the remainder of the officers and directors were sworn in by incoming Presiding Judge Charles Margines of the Orange County Superior Court.
OCWLA also recognized Human Options as its Community Service Awardee and donated $3,500 towards the organization’s ongoing work. Human Options is a non-profit corporation committed to ending the cycle of domestic violence. The programs focus on prevention and shelters with a goal of moving survivors forward to safety and healing. Their programs not only focus on domestic violence against women, but also are dedicated to serving seniors who are victims of domestic violence. In addition, they provide a legal advocacy program to guide clients through complex legal issues.
